KUCHING: The Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud yesterday received a courtesy call from members of the Sarawak Independence Day Celebrations Committee members at Astana Negeri here.
The committee members were led by Local Government and Housing Minister, Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian.
The purpose of the courtesy call was to brief Tun Taib on the Independence Day programme and invite him to grace the celebrations which would take place on July 22 at Dataran Perayaan, Jalan Stadium, Petra Jaya.
The Head of State is also expected to attend the Thanksgiving Dinner held in conjunction with the Sarawak Independence Day on July 20 at Masjid Darul Hana, Petra Jaya, Kuching.
