MIRI: Two girls died after they were knocked down by a 4WD vehicle while crossing a road in front of a primary school at Lapok,Baram at 10.35am yesterday.

Prior to the incident, the victims who were aged 10 and three were crossing the road.

Marudi police chief, DSP Gabriel Risut when contacted later that day disclosed that his men were at the accident scene but was unable to reveal further.

According to sources, the two deceased were Penan from Long Lutin.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
