Two ‘kelulut’ logs thieves nabbed

MIRI: A farmer who is venturing into rearing of stingless bees (kelulut) in Kampung Kejapil, Bekenu near here managed to apprehend two men with help from his brother-in-law for stealing ‘kelulut’ logs in his farm on Monday afternoon.

The two suspects aged 40 and 23 were nabbed at two separate locations at around 1.20pm.

According to a source, prior to the arrest, a Kelulut log worth RM300 belonging to the farmer was missing which prompted the farmer to conduct an inspection at his Kelulut farm on that day.

With the help of his brother-in-law, they went separate ways to inspect the farm and managed to nab the suspects.

It was made to understand that one of the suspects admitted to have stolen the Kelulut log and sold it to a buyer in Kampung Bakam for RM80.

The two suspects have been handed over to police for their further action.
