KUCHING: A 56-year-old man and an 11 year old boy died after their vehicle, a Proton Savvy which was following behind a Toyota Unser, collided into a Toyota Hilux after the Toyota Unser hit a Toyota Hilux at about 1.40 pm last Wednesday.
Lo Sin Hee, 56 died on the spot while his passenger, Albert Lau died at the Sarikei Hospital.
The Toyota Unser, driven by a female, was on its way to Kuching from Bintulu when it lost control of her vehilce at KM90, Sarikei-Betong Road. It hit the side of a Toyota Hilux coming from the opposite direction.
The Toyota Hilux, in turn, rammed into the Proton Savvy.
The driver of the Toyota Hilux was a policeman. He and his passenger, a police Inspector, escaped with only minor injuries. The female driver of the Toyota Unser also escaped unhurt.
Albert was rushed to the Sarikei Hospital in an ambulance but succumbed to his injuries.
Head of Sarawak Traffic Operation and Enforcement, Supt Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed that police are investigating the case.
