MIRI: Two youths were injured when the motorcycle they were riding rammed into the rear of a van at the Jalan Brighton traffic lights junction here at 5.30pm yesterday. The duo in their 20s sustained injuries on their faces, arms and legs.
According to a source, the two were travelling from the city to Tanjong Lobang. “However, when they arrived at Jalan Brighton traffic lights junction, the motorcycle rider was not in time to apply the brakes so he rammed the rear of a van which has stopped at the traffic lights junction.
“The impact of the collision caused the two youths to be flung from the motorcycle onto the road,” the source said. The two injured youths were later taken to Miri Hospital in an ambulance for further treatment. The van driver was unhurt. Meanwhile, the actual cause of the accident is still being investigated by the traffic police.
