Two property developers ordered to pay RM21,520 for late delivery

KUCHING: The Sarawak House Buyers Claim Tribunal Court yesterday ordered two local property developers to pay house buyers’ claims totalling RM21,519.92, for late delivery.

In the first case, a developer was ordered to pay house buyer Clarence Ng Fung Shang the sum of RM10,400 or RM400 per month for the 26 months delay in the delivery of his double storey intermediate terrace house located in Kuching North Land District.

However, because the vendor had already put in the tiles at the car porch, which cost RM5,200, the developer was asked to pay only a balance of RM5,200 within 45 days from the date of judgement.

In the second case, the Tribunal ordered a developer to pay house buyer Zizie Vanesha Jamali@Jamahari and Mohd Ali Bin Mohd Idris a sum of RM11,119.92 for the 27 months and 24 days’ delay in the delivery of their single storey semi detached house in Muara Tuang District Land.

The Tribunal also ordered all defects to be rectified within one month of the date of judgement.

The cases yesterday were he a rd by Sarawak House Buyers Claim Tribunal ’s President Dato Hajjah Maznah Binti Dasmi, assisted by panel members Tuan Haji Alhadi Bin Ibrahim and Encik Simon Woon Ta Meng.
