Two snatch theft cases, one break-in reported

KUCHING: A 47-year-old businesswoman from Semariang, Petra Jaya near here said at about 9.45am last Sunday while she was coming out of a hotel at Jalan Tun Jugah here, her handbag was snatched by a pillion rider on a motorcycle as the motorcycle passed her by.

She claimed that her handbag contained RM3,000 in cash and some personal documents.

In another snatching case, at 7.00am last Sunday at Jalan Belian, Bintawa, a 47-year-old carpenter said he was waiting near his motorcycle when two men on a motorcycle grabbed his bag which caused him to fall.

Inside the bag were the man’s mobile phone, personal documents and RM150. 

In another case a 36-year-old woman from Taman Kali, Jalan Resak near here who works in an electronic shop said at about 9.30pm last Sunday her house was broken into.

Among the items stolen were her mobile phone, bank cards, RM200 in cash and her house and car keys.
