SRI AMAN: Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Services Station (BBP Sri Aman) yesterday indulged in two special service operations as a result of local bad weather condition as well as the king tide at the Batang Lupar River in Sri Aman town.

A spokesperson from the station said the first insident involved an operation of the special service from BBP Sri Aman to clear the area caused by a falling tree at the Jalan Hospital n Sri Aman at 7.37pm.

“BBP Sri Aman sent its Bravo team led by PBKII Jilin Itar and five other personnel to the location of the incident (falling tree) right after receiving the call.

“While cutting and removing the falling tree at the site, our personnel also received information that a four-wheel drive was damaged by a falling tree branch while passing by the area,” the spokesperson pointed out.

The Bravo Team of BBP Sri Aman immediately did a ‘size-up’ at the incident site to assess the situation and subsequently did a ‘fend off’ using a machine.

Right after being done with the ‘size up’ and ‘fend-off’, the personnel continued with the cutting of the tree branches with two units of chainsaw until the situation was contained by 10.30 in the evening.

Meanwhile, he also pointed out that other BBP Sri Aman personnel also rushed to Kampung Stawang near Sri Aman town to assess a situation whereby the king tide phenomenon of Batang Lupar River caused water to overflow and inundated two residences by the riverbank in Sri Aman town vicinity.

“Our team quickly did the special service operation by draining the water that inundated the residences of Haji Mohamed Haji Adrus and Janisah Omar at Kampung Stawang, near Sri Aman town.

“The special service operations by BBP Sri Aman at the two residences in Kampung Stawang were done fully by 2am,” said the spokesperson.
