MIRI: Two men were arrested for stealing air conditioner compressor cable from a hotel at Jalan Brighton here, last Monday.
In the 3pm incident, the two suspects aged 21 and 46 years were nabbed by a few hotel staffers after they saw the two suspects behaving suspiciously.
Miri District Police chief, Assistant Commissioner Khoo Leng Huat said they received a call relating to the incident and immediately rushed to the scene to arrest the two suspects.
“Police managed to seize the equipment used by the suspects to steal the cables including a knife, gloves and cable cutter.
“Also seized were two rolls of cable which have been cut,” Khoo said, adding that the two suspects and the seized items were taken to the Miri Police station for further actions.
The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code.
