KUCHING: Sarawak Biodiversity Centre chief executive officer Dr Yeo Tiong Chia heads the list of 146 recipients of Sarawak state and public service awards at an investiture ceremony in the Sarawak State Astana here yesterday.
Dr Yeo was among eleven recipients of the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak, namely Pegawai Bintang Kenyalang (P.B.K).
Ten other recipients were Jun Silah, Laing Jok, Michael Chin Apau, Morsili Bakar, Haluyah Awi, Ng Peng Seng, Osaha Suhaili, Rahim Unsang, Sulaiman Saikh Abdul Kadir and Yussof Bujang.
The ceremony was officiated by Sarawak Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.
Also present was the wife of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib.
Nineteen others received the service medals Pingat Perkhidmatan Bakti (P.P.B); nine recipients received the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Sarawak (ABS); 39 recipients received the Darjah Utama Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Kenyalang Sarawak Ahli Bintang Kenyalang (A.B.K); 19 recipients, the service medals Pingat Perkhidmatan Terpuji (P.P.T); and 47 were recipients of the Darjah Yang Amat Mulia Bintang Sarawak Bentara Bintang Sarawak (B.B.S).
Also present at the awards ceremony were Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing who is also Minister of Infrastructure Development and Transportation Speaker of State Legislative Assembly Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar and heads of departments.
