MIRI: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud on Thursday evening graced the Hari Raya Aidilfitri Celebration hosted by Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Melayu Miri (LAKMM) here.
Taib, who was accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Ragad Kurdi Taib, handed over certificates of appreciation (Sijil Jasamu Dikenang) to a number of former chairmen, deputy chairmen and trustee members of LAKMM.
The Head of State also witnessed the presentation of contributions from the private sector to LAKMM, namely, firstly from the Naim Group amounting to RM50,000 through Senior General Manager, Charles Bateman.
Samling Group, which was represented by Troy Yaw Chee Weng, also contributed RM10,000 to LAKMM at the same function.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan who represented the Chief Minister, Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Lee Kim Shin as well as LAKMM Chairman, Dato Abdillah Abdul Rahim and other dignitaries.
