KUCHING: A group of students pursuing Architecture Degree from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak visited Naim Group of Companies’ Naim Sapphire Condominium development site here, recently.

The visit was conducted to encourage students to research and gather information related to their applicable field of study. The students were briefed on the essentials of project management and viewed various construction processes during the visit.

Naim’s General Manager of Sales, Marketing and Corporate Communications, Caroline Yeo said the Group has always played an active role in nurturing the younger generation.

“At Naim, we believe in providing the younger generation with the right support and exposure. This can better equip them in managing challenges in the workplace in future. Besides such visits, we have an internship programme which provides the relevant exposure to fresh graduates in their respective field of study.

“We thank UiTM for the opportunity to host this visit,” Yeo said.

Umar Kamaruzaman, a lecturer in the Department of Architecture UiTM Sarawak said the visit has indeed enriched the students.

“The visit has opened our students’ eyes on what goes on at a construction site. They have learnt various valuable lessons, especially on the architecture aspect of development.

“I’m also impressed with the quality of Naim Sapphire’s workmanship and finishing with the usage of aluminium formwork for the core building structure. The site is well-maintained and controlled as well,” Umar said.

Meanwhile, one of the students, Dayang Iffa Fatini Binti Mad Salleh said Naim Sapphire looks very modern and futuristic, and was impressed with how Naim organises its work environment.

“We are impressed with how Naim focuses on the safety aspect on site. The site is so well-organised and clean,” Iffa said.

Another student, Nazifah binti Muhammad Abdullah expressed her gratitude to Naim for the visit.

“We are thankful for this firsthand experience-this is indeed a wonderful opportunity!,” Nafizah said.
