Varsity visit concludes Sarawak delegation visit to Brisbane

BRISBANE: The Land Custody and Development Author i t y (LCDA) technical visit led by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan yesterday met the officials of Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) at the Universi ty of Queensland, Brisbane to talk about the adoption of digital technology for use in advancing development planning in Sarawak.

Speaking in a meeting with Queensland University representatives, Awang Tengah thanked the university for the opportunity made available for his delegation.

He said Sarawak has vast land area and soil information is very essential especially in formulating land use policy in Sarawak.

Meanwhile, Awang Tengah also hoped that LCDA and Sarawak Forest Department should work out some mechanism to establish collaboration with Australian counterparts in these areas of development. Included in Awang Tengah’s delegation were Datu Haji Len Talif Salleh, the Assistant Minister for Urban Planning , L and Administration and Environment; Dr. Wan Lizozman bin Wan Omar, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resources ; Datu Sajeli bin Kipli, General Manager, Land Custody and Development Authority; Zaidi bin Haji Mahdi, Director of Lands and Survey Depar tment as wel l as Wan Sufian bin Wan Mustapha, Head of Planning Division, Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resources.
