Vietnamese stars to grace red carpet event in Sarawak

The organising committee of Vietnam’s Face of The Year Awards 2018 and IMC Group – TodayTV Channel have officially announced the list of Vietnamese representative artists to participate in the red carpet and attend the 23rd Asian Television Awards (ATA) ceremony that will be held at the Borneo Convention Centre, Kuching, today (12 January).

Asian Television Awards is an annual award organised by Asian Television Magazine to honour excellent programming, production and performance in the year and is the most prestigious event of Asian television with more than 40 categories, attracting more than 1,300 entries from many countries in the region such as Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand and Qatar.

Launched in 1996, Asian Television Awards (ATA) is the Asian TV industry’s most significant and celebrated event, recognising excellence in programming, production and performance. While there are notable equivalents in the U.S and in Europe, ATA is the only event of its kind in Asia, making it the definitive platform to showcase and recognise quality television productions within Asia.

Considered as the Emmy Award of Asia, the award is determined by an expert panel of over 60 judges from across the region. The results are tabulated and audited by international auditing firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, with the winners only announced during the Awards Ceremony.

The 23rd ATA marks the first time in the history that representatives from Vietnam will be present. They are the winners of the 5th Faces of The Year Awards 2018, an event that took place on January 5 in Ho Chi Minh City. The artistes include Hoang Yen Chibi, Lien Binh Phat, Thuy Trang and Yan My that will officially represent Vietnam to become honourable guests of the 23rd ATA in Malaysia. Winners of “Best Actor & Best Actress” awards in Face of The Year Awards, Lien Binh Phat and Hoang Yen Chibi will be the Vietnamese representatives to appear on stage to present the 23rd ATA trophy.

Besides them, Trong Hieu (Vietnam Idol) will also be and performing at the ATA ceremony. The singer will perform his lively and energetic music performance – an artistic trademark that he has successfully built on the Vietnamese music scene.
