LAWAS:  Water woes yesterday persisted in the  town areas here and in Banting.

Many members of the public are disappointed with the relevant authorities for taking a long time to repair broken pipes in the urban areas.

They are urging the  government to look into the real weaknesses faced by the Department of Rural Water Supply (JBALB) Lawas.

Meetings with heads of government departments in Lawas District chaired by Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism, Dato Henry Sum Agong also wanted the water woes to be solved quickly.

When met by the media, Henry Sum sympathised with the people   who were often affected by the water woes and pledged to look into the issue seriously.

“Indeed, we often hear the various reasons given but let us, this time, hear how the department heads will solve the problems efficiently and not point  fingers at one another,” he said.
