MIRI: A female driver escaped with minor injuries after her car plunged into a drain at Jalan Vista Perdana-Kuala Baram here yesterday morning.
In the incident that occurred around 8.30am, the woman in her 40’s was said to be heading to a sludge treatment plant from Permyjaya when her car suddenly went out of control and crashed into the drain.
The woman managed to get out of the car by herself before seeking help from a passerby.
A team of firefighters from Lopeng fire station was called to the scene after she claimed that her friend was trapped in the car.
However, upon checking the vehicle, the firefighters did not find any victim. The woman was taken to Miri Hospital for medical attention.
Traffic policemen were also at the scene to investigate the cause of the accident.
