KUCHING: More than 60 people took part in a yoga session held at Sri Maha Mariamman Temple at Hare Krishna multi-purpose hall at Batu Kawa near here, recently.

Batu Kitang Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang who was among the participants said he was grateful to be invited by Reverend Prabhu Kripa Sindu Dasa to the event.

“Yoga is a good way to deal with stress and other pressures in life. The practice has a huge effect on our body and the systems that support it, like the nervous, respiratory and digestive systems. Yoga influences emotions and behavior. It has a positive effect on the mental state and helps in creativity.

“Yoga can also help you to keep focused, improve your memory and overall brain functions. The mind assumes many stages. Yoga can help you to transform the “quality of consciousness.” You can see how beneficial yoga is and 21 June has been declared as the International Yoga Day by the United Nations General Assembly.
