KUCHING: ‘The Sarawak Initiatives’ (TSI) officially launched its own website yesterday.

The website currently has six videos showing the work being pursued by TSI and what it represents.

Visitors to the website can register as ‘Friends of TSI’ to show their support.

TSI is a Sarawak-based NGO led by Datuk John Tenewi to pursue five specific objectives, with a global perspective, focusing on issues facing by Sarawakians.

TSI members recently paid a courtesy call on state Minister of Education, Science and Technological Research, Datuk Sri Michael Manyin Jawong, to understand better the state education policy.

“TSI is happy to note that the ministry will implement the zero syllabus and use English as the medium of instruction for five secondary schools in Sarawak,” said John in a statement.

“TSI is encouraging the Sarawak government to adopt the English language as the medium of instruction using the Cambridge syllabus or the IBO programme for all schools at the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels in Sarawak, while maintaining the mother tongue and the national language as compulsory subjects,” he added.

TSI is encouraging Sarawakians to be part of the organisation and support its struggles and objectives.
