NGOs, associations receive assistance

SIBU: Education, Science and Technological Research Assistant Minister Dr Annuar Rapaee doled out assistance to several non-government organisations (NGOs) throughout the week.

Last Wednesday, he presented funds to Sibu Razz Chopper chairman Abdul Razak Abdul Salam. He also presented assistance to the Malaysian Islamic Welfare Organization (Perkim) Sibu Branch at Jalan Bandong, here.

He also presented Unit for Other Religions (Unifor) funds to the Chiew Cho Methodist Church represented by Pastor Tiong Cheong Lai.

Meanwhile, the Housing Assistant Minister presented funds to the Parent and Teachers Association (PIBG) of Sekolah Rendah (SK) Kem Batu 15 to buy 340 sets of chairs and tables.

Also receiving the same assistance were PIBG SK Nanga Bon which the funds will be used to purchase 100 sets of chairs and tables.

Dr Annuar also reminded NGOs to utilise the funds for the benefit of its members.

He said the state government is always willing to support NGOs to conduct their activities for the wellbeing of its members.

“Under the GPS government, we are concerned about the wellbeing of the people be it those living in the urban areas or in the rural interiors.

“We are very concerned with the needs of the people. Therefore, the assistances presented should be used to the fullest,” the Nangka assemblyman said
