NGOs in Kabong receive RM160k in special grants

KABONG: A total of RM160,000 from Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s special fund was distributed to 22 organisations in Kabong constituency.

Its assemblyman Mohd Chee Kadir said each recipient organisation received an allocation of between RM5,000 and RM10,000.

SJKC Chung Hua Kabong, SK Abang Moh Sessang, People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) Kabong, Persatuan Angkatan Perisai Warisan Seni dan Riadah (Perisai) Kabong District, Single Mother Association Kabong Branch, Bersepai Football Club Kabong, Sarawak United National Youth Organisation (Saberkas) Kabong, Persatuan Anak Kabong (PAK) and Kabong Muslim Welfare Trust Board each received RM10,000.

Meanwhile, Sarawak Federation of Women Institute (PPWS) of Kampung Nyabor Lama (A), Kampung Tengah Gerigat, Kampung Empelam, Kampung Hilir Kabong and Kampung Hulu Kabong received RM5, 000 each.

“The funds were also channelled towards Malam Rindok Komuniti Kampung Kabong programme, Kabong Health Clinic advisory panel Jom Cergas programme, Kabong Badminton Club programme, Kabong Futsal competition, Kabong Petanque Club programme, Kabong Health Clinic Elderly Club programme and Kabong Muslim Youth Club programme,” he said during the cheque presentation event last Friday.

At a separate event, Chee presented minor rural project (MRP) grants totalling RM 68, 000 to mosques and surau in the constituency.

He reminded recipients to utilise the funds to benefit the community.

He also advised Kabong residents to continue to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) implemented by the authorities in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
