KUCHING: The distribution of assistance during the Covid-19 pandemic in the state should not be manipulated or politicised by any political entities.

Thus, Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) president Bobby William felt it should spearheaded by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) instead of any political parties.

He pointed out placement of political entities’ logo on items for the recent distribution of food assistance as well as at vaccination centres (PPV) is an unwise move.

“Please do not take advantage of the people’s predicament; what they need the most now is food on the table. When Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is said to be politicising the Covid-19 pandemic, they would get defensive.

“Have they forgotten of and about the official state’s crest?” he questioned.

He noted that the practice has been around for a long time which makes the people have a perception that GPS is the government and the government is GPS.
