KUCHING: The Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) took a stringent measure for all traders and hawkers to adhere to the movement control order (MCO).

In a notice issued on Thursday, all food courts, night markets and uptown are directed to be closed indefinitely until further notice.

MPKS said the move is in line with the MCO issued by the chief minister which is in force from March 18 until March 31.

It also said the order is in reference to a letter issued by the Ministry of Local Government and Housing dated March 18 which ordered local council to enforce such directive.
