Nine schools given teaching aids

SIBU: A total of nine schools under the Nangka constituency received Student Activity Books and Teaching Aids from SPARKS Education PLT Company and PROMAC Enterprise Company.

According to the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the handover ceremony was declared open by the Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development Dr Annuar Rapaee at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Bandaran No 3 on Tuesday.

According to Dr Annuar, a total of 150 students from three secondary schools will be under the foster programme at SMK Agama, SMK Kampung Nangka and SMK Jalan Oya.

“These students will be given special courses in each of their respective schools and the principals have agreed to run this programme,” he said during his speech at the event.

This project is given to schools in Sibu to help Primary 1 teachers increase students’ interest in Science and Mathematics in line with the main purpose of SPARKS Education, namely to increase students’ interest in STEM education.

Meanwhile, the chief executive officer of SPARKS Education PLT, Dr Angie Garet said Nangka constituents are lucky to have an elected representative who is aware of the importance of education, especially in the field of Mathematics and Science.
