SONG: A nine-year-old boy was injured after his right ear was pierced by an arrow from a fish gun on Saturday night (Apr 9).

The boy’s right ear is pierced by a metal arrow from a fish gun.

The victim, Larry Lang Monica Doris, had to endure the pain for more than an hour before the metal arrow was successfully removed.

A spokesman from the Sarawak Fire Department operations centre said firemen received an emergency call from Song health clinic regarding the incident at 9.30pm.

Song fire station immediately deployed a seven-man team to the clinic to assist in removing the arrow from the victim.

Upon arriving at the emergency room, they proceeded to cut the arrow using a bolt cutter until it was safe to pull it out.

After the arrow was taken out of the boy’s ear, he was handed over to the clinic staff for treatment.

The victim is safe and did not suffer any serious injuries.

Authorities did not disclose any information as to how the boy got his ear pierced by the arrow.
