KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Besatu (PBB) secretary-general Datuk Alexander Nanta Linggi revealed that the party had yet to receive any application for membership from former Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) deputy president Datuk Dr Jerip Susil.
He was responding to speculations that the Transportation Assistant Minister was about to join PBB.
“I have no knowledge of such arrangement. The only information I get is from what I gathered from the news,” said Nanta when contacted by New Sarawak Tribune yesterday.
“As the party’s secretary-general, we have yet to receive such application from him (Dr Jerip),” he said.
The former Rural and Regional Development Deputy Minister revealed that if such discussions were being made, they were done at a higher level.
“If it is true that he (Dr Jerip) is about to join PBB, the agreement is probably made between him and the PBB president (Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg),” Nanta pointed out.
Speculations are rife that Dr Jerip is about to join PBB after resigning from his deputy president post in PSB earlier this month.
Dr Jerip, in his statement on July 10, attributed his decision to leave the party for the greater interest of Bidayuh unity.
