KUCHING: Support the ruling state coalition in the coming general election as Sarawakians will not get a better government as the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government, says Datuk Henry Harry Jinep.

The Deputy Transport Minister II said only GPS would be able to fulfil its pledges and policies as well as the struggle of the people.

“You will never have another good government as the government of Sarawak.

“In the next election, make sure you give your votes to the government just like what you have done in the last state election,” he said at the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) reunion dinner for ex-staff and retirees at Grand Margherita Hotel on Sunday (July 31).

The Tasik Biru assemblyman said Sarawak was rich in resources which should be protected.

“Our Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg is leading a delegation on a study trip to London to learn and gain experience on the sovereign wealth funds in the United Kingdom.

“Sarawak will soon set up a sovereign wealth fund for the benefit of our future generations, so let’s give him our full support”, he said.

Later, Jinep shared his 32-year working experience at HDC, formerly known as Sarawak Housing and Development Commission (SPPS).

“My heart is still with HDC, I have to be honest. I learnt all the technical things that qualified me to further my studies.

“After 32 years, I now back as a friend,” he said.

A total of 160 retirees attended the HDC reunion dinner.

Also present were Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hing, HDC chairman Datuk Dr Abdul Abdul Rauf Abg Zen, and former chairmen Datuk Wahab Aziz and Datuk Peter Nansian Ngusie.
