No dine-ins for seven zones

KUCHING: Dine-ins at all restaurants and eateries will not be allowed for seven zones in the state, namely Sibu, Sarikei, Selangau, Kanowit, Betong, Bintulu and Kapit.  

The will be effective until May 17 as stated in the updated standard operating procedures (SOPs) released by the National Security Council (MKN) on April 26.

Food sale or supply activities are allowed for takeaways, drive-through or delivery services only.

For Sibu, Selangau and Kanowit Zone, the operation for other sectors will not be allowed and only those listed as essential services can operate at 50 percent capacity. The operational time for the essential services in the respective zones is from 6am to 8pm only.

Meanwhile, the number of individuals travelling in a private vehicle is limited to three people only while sports and leisure activities are prohibited.

As for Betong Zone, offices and businesses are allowed to operate from 6am to 7pm only.

Activities not allowed in the zone include sports, leisure, social activities such as weddings, engagements, receptions, aqiqah ceremonies, prayer ceremonies, anniversaries, birthdays, reunions and retreats as well as opening of massage, spa, reflexology, karaoke (including family karaoke) centres.

For Bintulu Zone, offices and businesses are only allowed to operate from 6am to 8pm while pharmacies and shops selling medicines can operate from 6am until 10pm, except for those located in shopping centres.

MKN added that going in and out of Bintulu was not allowed except for those in the essential services provided they had the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) swab test results and police permits.

Operation of farmers’ markets, night markets and night Bazaars (uptown and downtown) under the Covid-19 red zone is not allowed.

Shopping complexes, supermarkets and departmental stores are allowed to operate with the number of visitors at 50 percent of the premises capacity or a maximum of 50 people. Commercial shops and shop lots are allowed to operate with the number of visitors at 50 percent of the premises capacity or a maximum of 10 people.

For essential services, employers are responsible for making sure that the number of people in the workplace does not exceed 30 percent of the premises capacity.

Face-to-face meetings for official or work purposes in offices, hotels and other institutions are allowed but are limited to 50 percent of the premises capacity or a maximum of 50 people.

Except for those in the red zones, official, non-official government and private ceremonies are permitted at 50 percent of the premises capacity or a maximum of 100 people.

Meanwhile, the number of individuals in private vehicles allowed is limited to two people only while the number of individuals allowed in private vehicles from outside the zones is according to the capacity of the vehicle.

Prohibited activities include MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions, exhibitions), seminars, workshops, courses, training, conferences, talks, tournaments, competitions, social events and other social gatherings, corporate social responsibility (CSR) events, creative industry activities, cultural and tourism activities, public recreational activities at Tanjung Batu beach, ABF beach and Millennium Park.

For Kapit Zone, all economic sectors are allowed to operate from 6am to 8pm while petrol stations are only allowed to operate from 6am to 5pm.

Shopping complexes, supermarkets and departmental stores are allowed to operate at 50 percent of the premises capacity or a maximum of 30 people. Commercial shops and shop lots are allowed to operate at 50 percent of the premises capacity or a maximum of 10 people.

Public transportation services such as express buses, rental vans and express boats are allowed to operate at 50 percent capacity while the number of individuals travelling in a private vehicle is limited to three people.

Likewise, going in and out of Kapit is not allowed except for essential services as well as transportation-related industry, businesses and manufacturing with the condition of having RT-PCR results and police permits. Exemptions are given for funeral matters with the condition that the travelling does not exceed four days;   special approval must be obtained from the divisional health officer besides the police permits.

The number of passengers for essential services and transportation-related industry, businesses and manufacturing is according to vehicle capacity. The operators and employees have to go RT-PCR tests every 14 days.

Activities not allowed include MICE, seminars, workshops, courses, training, conferences, talks, tournaments, competitions, social events, retreats, family days, corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes, creative industry activities, tourism and cultural activities, farmers’ markets, night markets, Ramadan bazaars at Kapit town, Song town, Belaga town and Sungai Asap town, gymnasium centres, karaoke (including family karaoke), reflexology, spa, massage and gymnasium centres.

For Kuching, Miri, Marudi, Subis, Beluru, Telang Usan and Sarikei Zone, offices and businesses are allowed to operate from 6am to 10pm.

Prohibited activities for Kuching Zone include massage, spa and reflexology, karaoke (including family karaoke), gymnasium centres, studios providing yoga, zumba or related activities, farmers market, night bazaars (uptown and downtown) and Ramadan bazaars.

For Miri, Marudi, Subis, Beluru and Telang Usan Zone, operations of farmers’ market, night markets, and night bazaars (updown and downtown), especially in the red zones are not allowed except for night markets located in the Saberkas areas.

Prohibited activities include MICE, seminars, workshops, courses, training, conferences, talks, tournaments, competitions, social events, organisation of official, non-official government or private events, physical meetings in offices, hotels, or other institutions and Ramadan bazaars.

For Sarikei Zone, activities not allowed include massage, spa and reflexology services, karaoke (including family karaoke), gymnasiums centres, operations of farmers’ markets, night markets and daily roadside hawkers, Ramadan bazaars, sports and leisure activities.
