No entry for travellers from India

KUCHING: The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) will stop travellers who have been to India, from entering the state in its effort to prevent the new variants of virus from India.

“As a precautionary measure, the committee decided to restrict the entry of travellers and those who have been in India within 30 days to Sarawak effective this Tuesday (April 27),” it said in Covid-19 daily update statement.

On another note, Lundu and Pakan districts have changed to orange status after recording a total of 57 and 93 local transmission cases respectively in the last 14 days.

This brings the number of districts with red status to 21.

Meanwhile, Sebauh and Bau districts have also changed their status from orange to yellow status after recording a total of 27 and 24 cases of local infection respectively in the past two weeks.

The number of districts in the state with orange status has now changed to eight.

The state now has nine yellow status districts and two districts remained as green.
