No new case in Sarawak

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded zero Covid-19 cases on as of today, with the total number of cases remaining at 700 since the last case was detected on Sept 9.

According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), four individuals were receiving treatment at hospital isolation wards, with the Alam Cluster in Bintulu remaining active with eight cases.

“Two cases are being treated at Bintulu Hospital, and one each at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and Miri Hospital.

“The death toll remains at 19 or 2.71 per cent,” said SDMC in a statement today.

The committee revealed that there was one newly recovered and discharged case from SGH, bringing the cumulative total to 677 or 96.71 percent.

It added that a total of five new persons-under-investigation (PUI) were reported while two were currently awaiting laboratory test results.

SDMC also informed that 40 new persons-under-surveillance (PUS) had been checked into hotels to undergo quarantine.

This brought the current total number of PUS at 11 hotels statewide to 659 persons, while 23,762 PUS had completed their quarantine.
