No new case, state’s total remains at 566

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded no new positive Covid-19 case on Saturday (June 20), bringing the total number of positive cases in the state remaining at 566.

According to Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), there is also no new recovery case, bringing the total number of Covid-19 cases which have recovered and discharged at 535, or 94.52 percent.

“At present, there are 14 cases undergoing treatment at hospitals, while the total number of Covid-19 deaths in Sarawak remains at 17,” it said in a statement.

It was also reported there were 21 new persons under investigation (PUI) cases while one case was still awaiting laboratory result.

SDMC also stated that Samarahan district’s yellow zone status had changed from yellow to green after reporting no new Covid-19 case in the span of 14 days from the last case.

“This brings the number of districts throughout Sarawak classified as yellow zones to two, namely Bintulu and Kuching. Meanwhile, the total number of green zone districts is 38,” it continued.

SDMC further informed that the surveillance team had monitored 1,531 premises on Saturday (June 20) including supermarkets (283), restaurants (354), factories (22), banks (166), government offices (78), hawkers (25), public markets (91), and places of worship (86), recreational places (40), construction sites (34), and others (635).
