KUCHING: No new positive Covid-19 case was recorded in the state today.

According to State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the total number of Covid-19 cases statewide remained at 569 cases since the first positive case was reported on Mar 13.

SDMC said the total number of patients discharged also remained at 535 or 94.02 percent after no Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals statewide. “There are 27 new person under investigation (PUI) cases and four are currently awaiting laboratory test results,” it said in a statement today.

It added that as of today, there are 17 Covid-19 patients receiving treatments in hospitals throughout Sarawak, with the total number of deceased patients unchanged at 17.

It was also mentioned that another 117 persons under surveillance (PUS) were checked into various hotels throughout Sarawak for their mandatory 14-day quarantine.

This brings the number of quarantined PUS to 917 throughout 14 hotels statewide.

SDMC also stated that the surveillance team comprised 667 personnel had inspected 2,246 locations which included 367 supermarkets, restaurants (500), factories (13), banks (183), government offices (59), hawker centres (37), markets (115), places of worship (125), recreational areas (60), construction sites (23), and others (764).
