No reports of untoward incident during nomination day: CP

KUCHING: There were no reports of untoward incidents occurring at 31 nomination centres throughout Sarawak yesterday.

Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri in a brief message, confirmed that no (untoward) incident had occurred as of noon.

“So far, the (security) situation is under control.

“No incidents were reported and it (nomination process) went smoothly,” he said.

Reports from the Civil Defence Force (APM) also provided similar responses with the situation being under control.

Last Friday (Nov 4), Azman said the police were focusing on urban areas expected to be hotspots ahead of the 15th general election (GE15).

Among the focus would be at Bintulu, Bandar Kuching, Stampin, Lanang, Sibu and Miri.

In addition, they would also focus on areas where there had been an increase in voters, namely Senadin and Lambir in Miri, Tupong area in Petra Jaya and Santubong.
