A female suspect being brought to the police station to be remanded.

KUCHING: The murder of a well-known tailor here is believed to be over money and relationship.

A man, believed to be victim Wong Sie Tuang’s best friend, was arrested to assist police investigation and then released last Friday.

He was then found dead by hanging the following morning at a shop in Pending.

An 18-year-old youth, who is also Wong’s friend, was also arrested by the police.

The victim’s employee, a 56-year-old woman, was also arrested and remanded last Sunday.

Another person of interest implicated in the grisly murder that has rocked the city is being hunted by the law.

A female suspect being brought to the police station to be remanded.

Sarawak CID head SAC Denis Leong said it was only a matter of time before the police get their hands on the suspect, and warned anyone against harbouring the fugitive.

The public should inform the police if they know the whereabouts of the main suspect.

Wong was reported missing by his wife late last Tuesday. He was found dead — his body was stuffed in a luggage bag — after the discovery of the bag under a bridge in Bau near here last Friday evening.

Wong was last seen getting into his Lexus SUV with two friends last Tuesday afternoon and believed to be killed the same day.

SAC Leong said although the case was complicated, police would leave no stone unturned to get to the bottom of this violent crime.

Yesterday, the 28-year-old suspect brought police to a river in Lorong Chawan where a cellphone had been thrown into, although it was not found.

It is uncertain whether money, which the suspects demanded from Wong, ever changed hands.
