SIBU: In conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Hari Gawai Dayak celebrations, the Sibu Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) allowed non-essential services, namely retail, distribution and wholesale, to operate with effect on May 3.

The committee, in a statement today, said this decision was made with the approval of the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

“For areas under the conditional movement control order (CMCO) in Sibu Division, the non-essential services are allowed to operate from 6am to 8pm only.

“They must operate with employee capacity of 50 percent in the workplace,” said the committee’s spokesperson.

In addition, only 50 customers are allowed to be in the department store at one time.

He added that only 10 customers were allowed in the clothing, shoes and household convenience stores at one time.
