KUCHING: Despite flash flooding in several areas here, the water levels at the state barrages are still normal, said Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB) acting controller Lt (Rtd) Ding Tiew Wong.

In other words, Sarawak River remains as usual and the possibility of flood is not high.

He said as usual the board is discharging water downstream to regulate the water levels.

“We are opening our barrages to ensure that the water is drained out as per the normal procedure.

“We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure that the water is as low as possible,” he said when contacted recently.
