KUCHING: Welfare Club of New Sarawak Tribune and Utusan Sarawak (Kelab K.NST&US) through its ‘Projek Jejak Prihatin’ yesterday took the time to visit Fatima Abdul Wahid, a member of the Kelab K.NST & US and a staff of Tribune Press Sdn Bhd at her late husband’s house in Jalan Bunga Teratai, Kampung Pinang Jawa here.
The late husband, who was known as Bang Forkan, 55, died on last Thursday (9 March).
According to Fatima, she managed to stay beside her late husband in the final seconds of his life. He died due to abdominal problems and liver failure.
Projek Jejak Prihatin is one of the charity programmes in the Club’s annual calendar.
The visit was led by the Club’s president Madinah Ahmad Hipeni and advisor Bobby Tham, joined by several committee members.
Kelab K.NST&US (a non profit organisation) tries to do its best despite having limited funds for the welfare of 167 club members of Kuching, Sibu, Miri, Sri Aman and Bintulu comprising general managers, executive editors, editors, sub editors, reporters, photographers, graphic designers, DTP artists as well as the staff of Sarawak Press Sdn Bhd, News Distribution Sdn Bhd and Tribune Press Sdn Bhd.
The club is always trying to contribute and lighten the members’ burden in cases of death of parents, wife/husband and children; as well to those suffering from chronic diseases or affected by natural disasters. It also contributes to members who get married; giving birth, festive celebrations and other occasions.
