KUCHING: The residents in Kampung Tabuan Drahman who are undergoing the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) are reminded to observe and comply with the directives issued by the Health Ministry staff.

Demak Laut assemblyman Dr Hazland Abang Hipni said this includes turning up to the Covid-19 swab tests conducted.

“Residents are asked to follow every instruction set by the Health Ministry staff during the implementation of EMCO, especially in taking the Covid-19 swab test and they must stay at home.

“This EMCO will take two weeks and this is a reasonable period to assess a person infected with Covid-19 disease or otherwise.

“For that, do not leave the house unless absolutely necessary and also do not run away from the village,” he said when commenting on the implementation of the EMCO at Kampung Tabuan Haji Drahman from June 14 to June 28 on Wednesday.

In the meantime, Dr Hazland also directed the Demak Laut constituency service centre to distribute food aid to every household in the village to ease the burden of residents who cannot leave their homes.

A total of 700 sets of food aid were distributed to Kampung Tabuan Haji Drahman 1 and 2.

Apart from that, the Social Welfare Department (JKM) also contributed food aid to the residents.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its Covid-19 daily report on Tuesday said that Kampung Muara Tebas and Kampung Goebilt will also be subject to EMCO from June 16 to 29.
