The deadline to submit applications for refunds of excess land premiums for all resettlement schemes (SPS) and village extension schemes (SPK) is Oct 31 this year.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan said yesterday that as of March 31 this year, 4,537 landowners had received a total of RM 28.97m for their premium refunds under the Resettlement Scheme (SPS) and Village Extension Scheme (SPK).

“However, the refunds will only be made to the original allottees and not those who had sold the lot to a third party,” he reminded.

Awang Tengah added the state government had allocated 47,988 more lots. Out of these 36,578 lots had been distributed to eligible resettlement allottees.

He explained that the state government had set the premium for residential lots for the SPS and SPK to not exceed RM2,500 per lot except for Demak Relocation Scheme Phases 3, 4 and 6.

The state government, he added, would continue to enhance the basic infrastructure in all the schemes to ensure better living conditions.

“All gravel roads in the schemes will be tar-sealed,” said Awang Tengah.
