Office gets early CNY slithery visitor

MIRI: A three-metre-long python decided to make an early Chinese New Year (CNY) visit to an office in Bintang Jaya here, this morning (Jan 19).

But the unwelcomed reptile was captured by the Civil Defence Force (APM) after an employee noticed it while she was cleaning her desk around 9.15 am.

The 38-year-old female worker, fearing for her safety and colleagues, alerted the authorities.

APM Miri officer Lt (PA) Mirwan Shah Masri said a four-member team was deployed to the scene to catch the reptile.

The team found the python coiled up on a desk. It took the APM reptile experts two minute to catch the snake.

The reptile was relocated it to a safer place in its natural habitat far from the building.
