KUCHING: Olivia Christie Winnie was today crowned Miss Fitness Riverside 2019, a subsidiary title for the Miss Cultural World Harvest Festival 2019.
The event, which took place at the Riverside Shopping Complex here, saw the 19-year-old student winning a cash prize of RM700, a trophy, a hamper and a bouquet.
The prizes were handed over by Sara Urusharta Sdn Bhd general manager Alan Poh.
Sarawak Plaza & Riverside Shopping Complex operations manager Margaret Peter and Sarawak Harvest and Folklore Festival (SHFF) director cum Sarawak Cultural Village sales, marketing and event director Zaini Zainuddin were also present at the event.
The beauties were judged on their personality, fitness and performance by judges, fitness instructor Ahmad Tarmizie, Sekolah Seni Sarawak teacher Wagner John and Sarawak Information System IT executive Michelle Juran.
Meanwhile, Baity Munirah Muhizam, 20, was announced Miss Popular Riverside 2019 and walked away with RM300, a trophy, a hamper and a bouquet.
Miss Popular was won through voting via click “Like” (1 point) and “Share” (5 points) on the photos of the finalists on “Sarawak Plaza & Riverside Shopping Complex” Facebook page.
The other 10 finalists were Gloria Willi, Megan Melanie, Tamira Lallemand, Evelyn Lua, Florine Joefrey, Dayang Nursyafiqah, Lidya Yusreena, Angeline Cynthia, Charmaine Samantha and Nurdiyana Baharin.
This is the eleventh year that Riverside Shopping Complex is hosting the Miss Fitness Riverside 2019 in collaboration with the Sarawak Cultural Village.
With the support of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports Sarawak (MTACYS) and Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), the Sarawak Harvest and Folklore Festival (SHFF) would be held at the Sarawak Cultural Village from April 26 to 28.
Apart from Miss Cultural Harvest Festival 2019, the three-day and two-night festival would also be featuring the Sape World Concert and the live staging of “Dang Bunsu”, an adaptation of a Bisaya legend.
The coming event is a perfect festival for those wanting to savour traditional music, dance, actions and cuisine.
