PETALING JAYA: Oman will not take Singapore lightly when both teams meet in the final of the 2019 Airmarine Cup Football Tournament at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, today.

Oman’s head coach, Erwin Koeman said the Lions are certainly in their best element, having defeated hosts Malaysia 1-0 in the semi-finals, two days ago.

“They have several good players upfront and also in the midfield, so they are dangerous opponents for us. They have beaten the host team and certainly they would do well in the final.

“I expect the final tomorrow to be a tough game, but we are here to win the tournament and we are looking forward to play against Singapore,” Erwin told a pre-match press conference, here, today.

Erwin who is also the elder brother of renowned former Netherlands international, Ronald Koeman revealed he would be making slight changes in the starting line-up for tomorrow’s match.

Sharing his sentiments was Singapore’s head coach, Nazri Nasir who pointed out that tomorrow would be a major test for his charges, adding that he would give chances to several players to prove their worth in the match. – Bernama

“They (Oman) have beaten Afghanistan 5-0 in the semi-finals, and therefore the players must stay focused and know their job on how to handle the opponents.

“Their strength lies in wingers who are quite fast, and also their frontline and they can be extremely lethal,” said Nazri.

Malaysia who lost 0-1 to Singapore in the semi-finals, two day ago, will play Afghanistan in the third/fourth classification match which will be held earlier at the same venue.
