Sauh Cluster

KUCHING: Despite Sarawak not announcing any new local Covid-19 clusters, there were a total of three positive cases in the state under the Sauh Cluster which was declared by the Ministry of Health (MoH).

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the Sauh Cluster involved the Kota Kinabalu and Papar districts in Sabah as well as Miri.

“Therefore, SDMC wishes to inform that the case which was referred and reported in Miri involving the new cluster was Case 753. The case was reported on Oct 14 and has been admitted to Miri Hospital,” it said in a statement today.

It was referring to a media statement by MoH that a new cluster has emerged during a Covid-19 update on Oct 22 at 5.30pm.

Meanwhile, the state Health Department (JKNS) also reported that there were two more cases under the same cluster — one each in Daro and Miri.

“Case 734 in Daro was reported on Oct 9 and has been admitted to Sibu Hospital. The case has recovered and discharged on Oct 18.
