KUCHING: The State Health Department has identified one new Covid-19 cluster on Sunday (Aug 29).

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the Kaman Cluster is a community cluster involving residents of Kampung Kaman, Jalan Krokong in Bau.

It said out of 149 people screened, 63 people including the index case were positive while 86 were negative, and four new cases were reported today (Aug 29).

“All Covid-19 positive cases were admitted to nearby hospitals and low-risk treatment centres (PKRC) in Bau district,” SDMC said.

The committee also announced the end of two clusters, namely the Abu Bengang Cluster in Saratok and the Pasar Stutong 2 Cluster in Kuching.

SDMC said 27 out of the 130 active clusters in the state recorded a total of 238 new cases.

Additionally, the committee also announced that the Kabong District is now an orange zone after 16 positive cases recorded in the district within the past 14 days.
