MIRI: A maintenance vessel capsized about 7.7 nautical miles off Miri waters at 6.30am on Tuesday (Oct 27).
A search and rescue operations (SAR) was immediately activated to locate the victims after a distress call on the incident was made.
One hundred and twenty-one crew members were rescued at 8.45am, with one of them was reported to have died and four others still missing.
According to Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Miri chief, Captain Mohd Fauzi Othman, the crew was thrown off the vessel after it was blown by strong winds.
He said one of the anchor cables broke causing the vessel to crash into an oil platform in the area.
