SIBU: Pelawan assemblyman Michael Tiang Ming Tee hopes for continuous collaboration between politicians and media practitioners in disseminating accurate news to the public.

The Deputy Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government said that he acknowledges all the media practitioners’ efforts in delivering authentic news, especially in his constituency.

“I thank you for your effort and hard work in reporting the news in the mainstream media — for putting forward accurate news reporting on all my activities, programmes, and plans, as well as on my initiatives.

“I hope that we can continue to report accurate news and also come with a positive message to be reported in the mainstream media as well as continue to bring our people towards something positive, promising, and productive,” he said at the Sibu Media Dinner in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration here last night.

In his speech, Tiang also pledged to work hard in his effort to make sure all his manifestos from the last state election can be fulfilled.

“I am very excited this year because I can finally put my full focus on serving the people and launch some of the initiatives and programmes without being in campaign mode, as this year there will be no election, so we can really focus,” he said.

During the last state election campaign, Tiang came out with his election manifesto, which features six strategies to build a “New Pelawan,” which include improving the drainage system, upgrading the main carriageway, starting smart home projects, initiating youth entrepreneurship, enriching community parks, and elevating healthcare facilities.
