MIS’ latest directive on activities at mosques and suraus in CMCO areas.

KUCHING: Activities such as talks, lectures, reading of Al-Quran or Yasin will only be allowed between the period of Maghrib and Isyak for the respective divisional and district mosques and surau that are placed under the conditional movement control order (CMCO).

Sarawak Islamic Council (MIS) said this will be effective until the CMCO is declared ended by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) or should there be any further directive.

It said that the activities mentioned should be conducted within a capacity of not more than 200 people and at the same time, physical distancing must be observed.

For Masjid Jamek Sarawak, not more than 300 people are allowed.

MIS also urged Muslims to continue to adhere to all the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs).
