KUCHING: Only fully vaccinated people are allowed to enter or work in enclosed premises, according to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

It noted that the spike in cases caused by the Covid-19 Delta variant and workplace clusters led to this decision.

“To date, 1,653,259 (80.9 per cent) people have been fully vaccinated while 166,415 are still waiting for their second dose. In total, 1,819,674 eligible adults are expected to be fully vaccinated by the end of August.”

SDMC said there were still people yet to get their second dose and it agreed that flexibility be given to business operations this month — those who are working must have at least one dose of the vaccine.

“For those who are ineligible to get the vaccine for health reasons, they can show a health record obtained from an authorised health officer.

“Those who have yet to receive the complete dose are advised not to expose themselves in high-risk places, such as crowded and poorly ventilated places, especially where transmission of the virus is still high in the community.”
