KUCHING: Rallying behind Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will allow the coalition to complete numerous people-centric programmes and policies which cater to the needs and welfare of Sarawakians.

Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Kota Sentosa branch chairman Wilfred Yap said it is therefore imperative for the people to support GPS in the forthcoming 12th state election.

“Good programmes and policies have been put in place by GPS and there must be stability of leadership to ensure that Sarawak continues to progress and realise its real potential to be fully developed by 2030,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Nov 17).

He said another reason for Sarawakians to support the present GPS leadership is that the coalition had a proven track record and had already done a lot for Sarawakians, with its transparent and fair policies based on consultations among its four component parties, namely Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu, Parti Rakyat Sarawak, Progressive Democratic Party and SUPP.

“The opposition can talk, but time has proven that the opposition cannot deliver on their promises. Only GPS can walk the talk,” he said.

On another matter, Yap, who is also SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) chief and a Padawan Municipal Council councillor, was told about the roof of a house belonging to a person with disabilities (OKU) having partially collapsed.

He was alerted during a recent turun padang visit with community leaders to 6th Mile, Penrissen Road.

Upon hearing of the predicament faced by the OKU, Yap and Kapitan Lee Tho Fung visited the OKU houseowner who requested for assistance.

“The partially collapsed roof of the house is currently being repaired through gotong-royong activity by members of SUPP Kota Sentosa and Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) Kota Sentosa 7th Mile under Projek Rakyat N12 Kota Sentosa,” he said.

SUPP’s PCB is ready to lend a helping hand to anyone facing problems. Anyone requiring assistance can call SUPP PCB at 016-7797688 or 082-246999, or directly visit the SUPP Head Office to request for assistance.
