LAWAS: A fire broke out in the Lawas Hospital operating room Thursday evening, forcing patients to evacuate from nearby wards.
The cause of the fire was believed to be from one of the air conditioners in the room.
A team of 10 firefighters rushed to the scene upon receiving a distress call called on the incident at 6.02pm on Thursday.
Swift action by members of the public and Bomba managed to prevent the fire from spreading.
It took Bomba less than 20 minutes to secure and contain the fire.
No injuries or casualties were reported in the incident.
