Ops Pusher nets RM1.07 worth of drugs

KUCHING: An operation dubbed Ops Pusher carried out by the police here from Aug 1 to 31 has yielded a seizure of RM1.07 million worth of dangerous drugs.

District police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the operation has landed 39 arrests for various drug-related offences.

“The estimated weight of the seized drugs was 7.1kg, as well as 17,887 ecstasy pills and 151 erimin 5 pills.

“Also seized were two cars with an estimated value of RM90,000,” he said today (Sept 2).

Ahsmon said the seizures were made through 13 raids in various locations around the city.

As for the arrests, he said the suspects are between the age of 18 and 52 years old and eight of them have previous criminal records.

“A total of 43 investigation papers were opened under Sections 39B, 39A, 12 (2), 15 (1) and 6 of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. Investigations and prosecutions are ongoing,” he said.
